The Escabel Stool Kit
The Escabel Stool Kit
(Images show Birch Plywood version of kit)
The Escabel Stool is our very first woodworking kit. It is challenging enough that you learn some key skills and feel a massive sense of achievement, without it being overwhelming or intimidating as a first woodworking project.
The kit is suitable for ages 7 and up, although we can't stress enough that it will be as fulfilling, satisfying and educational for a 7 year old novice woodworker as it will for a 70 year old, and of course anyone in-between!
To complete it you'll need to clamp, saw, sand and oil, all of which are covered in detail in the accompanying workbook!
The majority of the stool is pre-cut out of furniture grade birch ply. This is an incredibly strong, high quality and long lasting material, that is used by professional cabinet makers all over the world.
The stool arrives in birch ply surrounds, and is held in by tabs meaning that it is completely safe in transit and won't get damaged!
The Escabel stool kit comes with:
The Arco Workbook [Instructions, techniques, a glossary and two blank gridded pages for working out and making notes]
Sand Paper (120/180/240 Grit)
Wood Glue
Anything you need for making that you don't already have, can be easily purchased from the Tools section of our website or your local hardware store - but most of these items should be knocking around in the garden shed, and once you have them, they can be used for all your projects for years to come!
Children and young people under the age of 16 must ALWAYS be supervised by their parent or guardian whenever using sharp or dangerous tools. Arco can not take responsibility for any injury sustained as a result of making our kits. (Although we would feel bad and send you a box of chocolates if you did hurt yourself)
